Congratulations to Rick Annett, winner of the this year's Theodore W. Kalsbeek Rotarian of the Year Award!
This honor is awarded annually and is based on a member's contribution to the Club in any given Rotary year.  Rick has proven worthy of this honor through his work on the Board, numerous committees, and chairing our main fundraising event, the Community Awards Dinner.  A model member of Rotary, we thank Rick for his achievements in his three years of being a Rotarian.

Congratulations to the BAMS Rotary Club on celebrating its 25th year!

Happy Monday Fellow Rotarians!
First, some exciting news on the front to eradicate polio - on Friday, July 24, Nigeria passed the one year mark for no new cases of polio!  This is the longest that country has gone without a case and was the last in Africa!  This leaves just two countries, Afghanistan and Pakistan, that need our support to eradicate this disease, as well as ongoing support to keep Nigeria and other susceptible countries polio free.
If you've not before given to PolioPlus as a Rotarian, do so now both to help end Polio worldwide and to be a part of what soon should be a historic landmark for humankind - yep, tell your kids you help end polio in the world.
And if that didn't get you excited about being a Rotarian, try this - be sure to come tomorrow where we'll be drawing our July raffle winner, hearing from Bob Warfel - supervisor for FBI Special Agents, and, as always, pay tribute (in more ways than one) to our esteemed Sergeant at Arms.
Finally, if you've not seen the latest issue of Rotarian magazine, at a minimum please read the letters to the editor which feature correspondence from Kim Koss, Ted Kalsbeek, and Joe Mathews.  Specifically Kim's, who gave a very heartfelt thank you to all of you for your support on her journey.
We miss you Kim; you are in our thoughts and prayers -
Happy Monday Club!
A big thank you to all who came out Saturday and volunteered for the Bastille Day Booth.  I heard reports it was pretty busy for us!
If you have not yet RSVP'd for the Summer Social on August 15, please do so as soon as possible!  It will be at the Cincinnati Observatory from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM and we'll have an opportunity to get a tour of the observatory and do some stargazing.  The cost is $15.00 per person, food, water and soft drinks will be provided but it is BYOB.
Please join us tomorrow for our meeting where we will hear from Glenna Mockbee with Therapy Pets of Greater Cincinnati and, I'm guessing, meet a few of their furry friends.
See you there!
